Tells us a bit about yourself:
I am the founder of THE ELK, a specialty coffee shop and general store with 2 locations in downtown Manhattan. I moved to NYC 13 years ago (time flies when you're having fun!) from Vancouver BC Canada. I've lived in Soho for all of those 13 years! I love feeling like I'm in the center of it all-- I can pop over to our West Village location easily, and I'm a stone's throw away from our Nolita location. I also love how our neighborhood has managed to maintain a mix of small and big business throughout the years-- for me this is what makes New York such a special place to live.

Anything you'd like us to share with our community (your business, project, non-profit, etc.)?
I also own and operate a cocktail bar in Williamsburg called Bar Beau (61 Withers Street, Brooklyn NY). We have killer cocktails + great vibes if you are ever in the neighborhood come find us!

What are your local favorites that you'd love us to give a shout-out to?
Emporio for the best gluten free pizza, Egg shop for the best breakfast bowls, Revelie luncheonette for just about everything on their menu, Lovely day for dinner any day of the week. And of course, TGM for snacky-hour (My life clearly revolves around food!)

What’s your snacking style?
Crunchy + Salty + Gluten Free

Snack Picks

  1. Bjorn Qorn: I always have this on deck, no matter where I am! I like the clean and simple ingredients and it's just delicious.
  2. The Elk Chicken Salad: I like to eat it with a cracker or kettle chip (s/o Cult Crackers and Superbon truffle chips!). We make it in house so I know it's always fresh and it's such a solid snack / mini meal on the go.
  3. Date Better: Whenever I have a craving for something sweet, these always hit the spot. I love the caramel like texture, and I never feel guilty eating these.
